Artist's Comments

It's cramped...because...printer paper can only hold so much. xD

I don't think I'll enter the Artist at the Ready thing, I just did this to burn my time at the library, and had fun doing so.

This has characters from the now and then.

Hmmm...what's the easiest way to do this? How about from the middle and going to the big head next to me, then clockwise.

Talena (aka Me) the tired looking, barefoot, caffeine addict in the middle, using my school binder as something sturdy to draw on.

Ryoku The big head to the left of me, who's hand also happens to be in the foreground causing those flames, he's what I consider my first attempt at a protagonist in a serious comic, he's the first character I drew in "manga/anime" style in my life. He's a dear character to me, a guardian, and a selfless individual, his soul is that of Seiryu, a blue dragon, his true elements are wood and earth, and despite him being very simple, people still tend to enjoy him.

Keiko Hanging off of Rei's sheathed sword, she's the carefree kickass country bumpkin I only wish I could be. She finds the good things in life to be happy about, and loves a good fight. Her soul is that of Byakko, a white tiger; her true element is metal. I haven't gotten around to it yet, but she learns to manipulate her spear into a variety of other metallic objects and weapons. Despite being through hard times, she's still a very happy girl. Although, she does have the occasional guilty flashback, she does her best to distract herself with comics and video games.

Rei Sporting a fox mask, she's a character I made for SDL. A lot of artists have drawings of their personas and Rei happens to be mine. Rei was a quirky creation, because her habits of drinking have nothing to do with me. She began with the idea of a similar character in a friend's fictional/fantasy story.

Fuzzy Wuzzy The lil' guy being tossed up above Rei's head is a character I made when I was a wee lass. A dust bunny named Fuzzy Wuzzy, neither bunny OR bear for that matter, he lived under the sofa and would have constant struggles of living in the microscopic world. He dreaded vacuum days the most, and loved eating.

Spot I've been drawing dogs since kindergarten. My parents would never buy me one, so I suppose the best way I coped with it was drawing dogs all the time. Trying to keep with the manga/anime style, that Spot looks nothing like my other drawings of him, but the idea is the same. Stupid, slobbering, and lovable.

Tsubaki Also dwelling in the Ryoku/Keiko universe (lol), Tsubaki is a blind boy that's learned how to break the limitations of the real world and "see without seeing", much like Ryoku using his antenna hair to detect the presence of ki in things, Tsubaki can also see it. He's extremely accurate with projectile weapons, but has a weak body and is constantly ill. He lost his vision as a child, in an accident where he recalls fire being present. His soul is that of Genbu, a black tortoise and serpent, and his true element is water. Out of the 4 protagonists of Kitsune he's the most upbeat, and the shyest.

Brian - Ahahaha....oh Brian. The ponytail dude with the shades in the upper right-hand corner. I came up with him in that silly "man-self meme" and ever since he's been popping up in my school time doodles. I have yet to put him in a comic, but I imagine he is a very skilled assassin...and a doofus.

Shiki - the winged girl that's falling there is Shiki, a very important character to the plot of Kitsune and yet....THERE'S HARDLY ANY ART OF HER ON DA, WTF?! But that aside, she's what bonds all of the protagonists together. Her soul is that of Suzaku, her true element is fire. If the pic were colored, her wings would be red. She's the most destructive of the four gods, and is taught in the ways of fire manipulation by Ryoku and Keiko, who both reside in her home in the comic. She has no memory of her past, but Ryoku was her guardian as a child. She's a very determined individual, and although she expresses anger quite freely towards Ryoku in general, she's very close to him.

Stitches- That freaky lookin' bear looking at my Pepsi can is something from childhood, heh heh~ When I was little my teddybear was my imaginary friend, and I'd talk to him, but one day I couldn't "hear" him anymore, so I thought he died. Thus, Stitches was born. I doodled him a bit in elementary school. If you could see the bottom half of him, he would had that whole ghosty no-legs thing goin' for him. Despite being capable of the most grotesque facial expressions (not shown here of course) he was still a good bear.

War- Under stitches and my armpit is War, a character I designed for =saburu91. One of the 4 horsemen of the Apocalypse he wears samurai gear, and has a very short temper. Not to mention facial hair. xD

Asuka Hemlock- Asuka Yamada's reincarnation, she's the daughter of Keiko Yoshitaka and Jake Hemlock, a vampire, making her a half-vampire (but she has no taste for blood). Unlike her previous incarnation she's very kind, but still has the habit of being rather quiet. She loves music, and knows how to play the guitar. She gets into trouble at school because she sometimes gets "an attitude", possibly a result of her previous incarnation's habits. She's very attached to her mother, and has learned how to manipulate metal like her. Her life proves difficult at times because she feels as if she's two people at once, remembering things from a life she knows is not her own.

Werewolf - basically all I drew in middle school. I had anger problems, and a love for werewolves. 'nuff said.

The (Dark) Viper - I went through this whole "superhero" stage in my life around 6th grade, and came up with a trio of super-weirdos. The Viper was actually a character I developed in a very violent short story I turned in for an assignment. The teacher gave me an A surprisingly, but the main character of the story was an evil mutant gone mad, he had a variety of DNA mix-ups, but his head was that of a snake, thus he was dubbed "The Viper" in the story. I switched things around and made him an antihero, joined him up with a dark mage named Dark Rifter, and a blond gun-toting 12 year old boy named Swift Darkness, thus my corny "Dark Team" was born. xD

Rain- Someone I have yet to introduce, Rain's an androgynous, skilled sword-wielding individual, with possible ties to the Yakuza.

Tea Kettle- Asuka Yamada's pet cat, that later begins to exhibit powers not usual for a feline. She walks! She talks! She totally kicks your ass! The red ribbon also has a secret importance I suppose, but half the time even I don't know why I do, what I do. xD

Asuka Yamada Oh, what a nice way to end the pic. I fell asleep in the car once, listening to dark music, and ended up having a nightmare. As I sat on theblood stained floor with bodies lying to either side of me, a woman standing stoic-like in front of me, turned and smiled. Her eyes were red. Her hair was black. When I woke up I drew like the wind, to get her down. Thus Asuka was born. In essence I tried to make her a character that was the complete opposite of Keiko. I didn't want her in the Kitsune storyline though, but I still wanted her to interact with Keiko so she became an agent in ~THE-BIATCH. Pretty soon she began to develop qualities that were far from evil, and my goal for her changed to develop her into a character that everyone would see her actions as "bad", when in reality, her hidden motives and feelings were far from it. She has terrible habits, hates herself, but in reality has a deep love for those kind to her.

WOOOOO it's over! I'm tired of typing. = A=;;
